Immigration? Given Choice Between a Skilled Indian and an Unskilled Bulgarian, I Know Who I'd Prefer
If we were a normal country that would have resulted in an national scandal as it is obvious racism and insult!

Let's play logical fallacy bingo, shall we?

We have false dichotomy, strawman argument, appeal to emotion, gross generalization... Need one more.

I'm not surprised to see this nonsense repeated verbatim here on SNA, but I am disappointed.

This is from the Daily Mail. Nobody, except possibly a few deranged Daily Mail readers, takes this racist crap seriously. It is a pity these non-representative views are allowed to be repeated here and offend Bulgarians.

jings,

Yeah, it is the Daily(Hate)Mail but there is xenophobia aplenty in UK, especially directed against East Europeans who are the EU scapegoat du jour.

Check out this web site:

I know you like cats, but these here are "Cats that look like Hitler" a.k.a. Kitlers. The silliness on the web never ceases to amaze me. lol

Nellie,

I like all animals. In fact, I've had a lot more dogs than cats and probably a greater variety of species than most people (even a monkey).

That said, half of those kitlers have 'staches from out of "The Thin Man" or Poirot-staches rather than the Hitler brush.

To me none of them look like anything like Hitler. These people on this web site are nuts. Kitlers....Who would have thunk it?!?

Ah, Colbert...Your imaginary BFF, isn't he?

Did you learn any Norwegian yet? Is it as slithery and unpronounceable as Danish and Swedish?

Immigration? Given Choice Between a Skilled Indian and an Unskilled Bulgarian, I Know Who I'd Prefer
"Given a choice between an unskilled Bulgarian (or Romanian) and an Indian businessman, I know where my preferences would lie. The first has no call on our loyalties and is likely to make a limited contribution to our economy.

The second comes from a country with which we have ancient links and are trying to forge new ones. he would almost certainly speak English, and offer skills that may be in short supply here."

Gee, I wonder how he came to this conclusion. Most Bulgarians are much better educated and much smarter than most Indians, despite the fact that England has been spoon feeding the Indians for over 100 years. There is no comparison. Bulgarians are European Caucasians and Indians are just vermin.

I wouldn't bet on that. I don't have any personal experience in this area, but I've heard several complain that when they call the trouble line for assistance with their computer, they wind up talking to someone in India.

Yes, someone in India who speaks English with such a bad accent that nothing can be understood. And if you ask him a question a little bit out of the box and outside of his instruction manual, he is completely useless. Help desk, my arse! Get rid of all of them, they are all idiots. I always demand to speak to a native English speaker, or a supervisor, or someone who is not in India. I am fed up with these Indian vermin!

this anti Bg propaganda is a result of much anti Bulgarian propaganda in the British press..

especially the "Beeb" BBC...

plus hysteria stories about gypsy pickpockets in London that call them "Bulgarian' not explaining they are a distinct sub culture with the territory of Bulgaria

then again, perhaps so many people ripped off by dodgy BG property agents just spread the word :(

I may be wrong on this, but it seems to me I've been seeing news reports here lately that Germany is thinking of relaxing its immigration policy to admit Indian technicians into the country to work, primarily because of lack of skilled people here.

It's a confusing situation here. There's high unemployment (even if we subtract the "I don't want to work" crowd), yet industry is reporting that they can't hire because of lack of qualified applicants. The statistics from the employment offices show that there are thousands of open jobs, but no qualified applicants.

The school system is heavily under attack.

What do you make of the Bulgarian Formula 1-gate involving the Abu Dhabi company EABG?
It demonstrates the total incompetence of the Bulgarian state administration.

It is a plot on part of certain people trying to extort money from the Abu Dhabi company.

It is a attempt to establish a Formula 1 facility with foreign money in order to serve the interests of certain circles in Bulgaria.

It is a genuine attempt to find a proper foreign investor for a Formula 1 facility in Bulgaria which ran into trouble because of misunderstandings.
