The world famous jazz singer Natalie Cole will perform in Bulgaria for the first time on July 30.

The daughter of the jazz legend Nat King Cole will perform in Sofia the songs from her latest album, which features interpretation of songs by her father, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Sami Davis Jr, Peggy Lee.

Natalie was born in 1950 and was raised among the most famous jazz, blues and soul musicians. Her family, known as the “black Kennedys”, lived in a rich Los Angeles neighborhood and did not deprive her of anything.

At the age of 6 she sang with her father on his Christmas album and at 11, she officially began performing. In 1975, she won the first of her nine Grammy awards and was became the new queen of soul.

Shortly after that she replaced the love of music for the love of heroin and cocaine, which made her mother assume control of her finances and custody of her son.

In interviews, Natalie often points out the the reasons for her addiction were the fame of her parents and the high expectations, while her son, Robert Yancy, was her reason to fight the destructive habit.

In 1991, her album “Unforgettable... With Love” came out and was sold in 7 million copies. It featured Natalie's interpretations of 22 songs by her father to the accompaniment of her uncle, Ike Cole. It also brought the queen of soul another Grammy award.

In the last few years, Natalie was struggling with kidney disease as a result of hepatitis C, which she believed was caused by her drug addiction.

Last year, she received a kidney transplant. However, she kept touring immediately before and after the surgery, performing the songs from her last album “Still Unforgettable”.

What do you make of the Bulgarian Formula 1-gate involving the Abu Dhabi company EABG?
It demonstrates the total incompetence of the Bulgarian state administration.

It is a plot on part of certain people trying to extort money from the Abu Dhabi company.

It is a attempt to establish a Formula 1 facility with foreign money in order to serve the interests of certain circles in Bulgaria.

It is a genuine attempt to find a proper foreign investor for a Formula 1 facility in Bulgaria which ran into trouble because of misunderstandings.
