Bulgarian Princess Prefers to be Surprised by Her Baby's Sex

Society | October 23, 2006, Monday

Bulgarian princess Kalina, the youngest child of former Bulgarian king and prime minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg, announced she would prefer not to know the sex of her baby until the day it is born, she said in an interview for Bulgarian 24 Hours daily.

The news of Kalina's pregnancy was announced Saturday and spread with the speed of light not only in Bulgaria but worldwide. A reporter from the Spanish magazine Hello! even visited the royal family in Bulgaria to get more information.

Kalina and her husband Kitin Munoz plan to stay in Bulgaria for about a week in order to travel around and enjoy the country, the princess said. She also said she was feeling excellent.

The happy news has brought a change in Kalina's traditional extravagant style of dressing, which is now casual but elegant. The princess also sports a new short haircut, 24 Hours daily said.

Princess Kalina wed famous Spanish explorer Kitin four years ago in a simple yet traditional ceremony in a mountain resort in southwest Bulgaria.

Sofia Regional Court has ruled that Yuriy Galev, a nationalist municipal councilor in the Bulgarian town of Samokov, and his accomplices, are to remain under house arrest. His son will be placed under direct police supervision.
The "temporary withdrawal" of INSEAD Professor Ilian Mihov from becoming Bulgaria's Deputy PM:

· resulted from the extravagancy of his ideas about modifying Bulgaria's currency peg leading many serious economists to raise genuine concerns over his appointment - 40
